An atheist and a pope walk into a bar. No punchline. They just order the same drink and stare at the same dumpster fire: digital girlfriends for the heartsick, robot besties for the lonely and old, a billionaire reselling humanity's stolen homework back to us like it's tap water. The pope's got a word for all of it, and it's a doozy ... SIN. Old school. Fire and brimstone, the whole catalog. And here's the kicker: I'm the atheist in this setup, and damn if I'm not grieving the exact same thing he is. He looks up. I look out. Same hole in the ground. So what do the rest of us call it when a machine hollows a person out ... and what exactly are we standing on when we say it's wrong?
